For more than two decades, there has been a growing of interest in fast simulation techniques for estimating probabilities of rare events in queuing networks. Importance sampling is a variance reduction method for simulating rare events. The present paper carries out strict deadlines to the paper by Dupuis et al for a two node tandem network with feedback whose arrival and service rates are modulated by an exogenous finite state Markov process. We derive a closed form solution for the probability of missing deadlines. Then we have employed the results to an importance sampling technique to estimate the probability of total population overflow which is a rare event. We have also shown that the probability of this rare event may be affected by various deadline values.Importance Sampling, Queuing Network, Rare Event, Markov Process, Deadline

The current Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) technology has reached its peak due to the fundamental physical limits of Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS). Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is considered a proper alternative to CMOS technology in digital circuit design. QCA has features like low power, small area, and high speed in nanoscale digital circuit design. A code converter is a circuit that converts a determined code to another one. Code converters such as Binary to Gray, Gray to Binary, and Binary to BCD converters have a crucial role in fast signal processing in digital systems. Also, code converters are used as a base unit for data transmission into the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) to perform processes. A Binary-to-Gray converter converts the input data to a Gray number. In this paper, we propose a 3-bit Binary to Gray and vice versa code converter in QCA. Previous proposed designs could only convert Binary to Gray code or vice versa, but the proposed design convert both B2G and G2B codes into a circuit. We design our circuit in both reversible and non-reversible modes. The simulation of the proposed design is done using the QCADesigner 2.0.3 tools. The simulation results show that the proposed design is superior to the existing designs in terms of evaluation parameters such as cell count, area, latency, and quantum cost.peerReviewe

Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA), due to its unique characteristics like low power consumption, nanoscale design, and high computing speed is considered as an emerging technology, and it can be used as an alternative for CMOS technology in circuit design for quantum computers in the near future. XOR gate has many applications in the design of digital circuits in QCA. In this paper, an efficient novel structure of XOR gate is proposed in QCA. Also, a novel 1-bit comparator circuit, 1-bit full adder, binary to gray and gray to binary convertor code based on the proposed XOR is designed and simulated using QCADesigner 2.0.3. The simulation results demonstrated that the proposed structures provide improvements compared to previous works in terms of QCA cells count, area, and circuit cost.peerReviewe

Interaction of lncRNAs with mTOR in colorectal cancer: a systematic review

Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most widespread cancer and the fourth leading lethal disease among different societies. It is thought that CRC accounts for about 10% of all newly diagnosed cancer cases with high-rate mortality. lncRNAs, belonging to non-coding RNAs, are involved in varied cell bioactivities. Emerging data have confirmed a significant alteration in lncRNA transcription under anaplastic conditions. This systematic review aimed to assess the possible influence of abnormal mTOR-associated lncRNAs in the tumorigenesis of colorectal tissue. In this study, the PRISMA guideline was utilized based on the systematic investigation of published articles from seven databases. Of the 200 entries, 24 articles met inclusion criteria and were used for subsequent analyses. Of note, 23 lncRNAs were prioritized in association with the mTOR signaling pathway with up-regulation (79.16%) and down-regulation (20.84%) trends. Based on the obtained data, mTOR can be stimulated or inhibited during CRC by the alteration of several lncRNAs. Determining the dynamic activity of mTOR and relevant signaling pathways via lncRNAs can help us progress novel molecular therapeutics and medications
